Our ancistors started worshipping Periyandavar since 15 or 16 th century and it might be much before that too. But as per our solid records our ancistors started worshipping Periyandavar since 15 or 16 th century with just handfull number of 24 mtc vammayar people. And today we all know that our root got well established to 100 families which is roughly around 500 to 800 people.

Everyone is really anixious to know about the history of the name konanchettiyur. Finally, it is the time to reveal our pride and history behind the name, I had a deep research and analysis to find out and finally got some evidences for the name konanchettiyur and how we 24 MTC vammayar kula descentants migrated to tamilnadu. During 16 the century, king Krishnadeva rayar have ruled salem including tamilnadu by winning war against tipu sultan and we 24 MTC played a vital role as a warriors and we successfully fought tipu sultan troops. So because of our king Krishnadeva rayar we people migrated from andhra province to salem area and thus how konanchettiyur have formed under the rule of Krishnadeva rayar. So to honour the community , king have allocated lot of government posts to our community and nayakars. Also he have allocated huge amount of acres of land to our community people and nayakars.
